evenko and Live Nation announced
today that alternative rock band Weezer will
perform at Mile One Centre in St.John’s on Thursday, July 22. Tickets
will go on sale Friday, May 21 at noon.
Formed in Los Angeles in
1992, Weezer consist of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, guitar). Patrick
Wilson (drums, guitar, backing vocals), Brian Bell (guitar, backing
vocals, keyboards) and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals, keyboards)
ans is bst known for their sucessful singles Buddy Holly, Undone - The Sweater Song,
Beverly Hills,
Pork and
Beans and Island in the Sun.
Weezer have
released seven full-length albums, five EPs, and a DVD and has sold
more than eight million records in the US to date. The band's seventh
studio album, Raditude was
released on November 3, 2009.
Weezer will performing at the
Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN in June, and
Montreal’s Heavy MTL Festival in July and at Reading and Leeds Festival
in August.
